What is Christmas to you?
Christmas is the season of Love, Hope, Peace and Joy.
When September starts people are already looking forward to Christmas. Thinking about the coming bonuses and Christmas gifts are so common among us.
Some are thinking more on the gifts they will give and some are more on the gifts they might receive. What about you? Are you more of a giver, or a receiver?
Well, on top to that, everyone should remember the real essence of Christmas. Allow me to present it to you through the four lighted Advent candles in the wreath of Catholic Church.
Basically, candles shine brightly in the midst of darkness, as it reminds us that Jesus came as Light into our dark world. Three are violet: Peace, Love, and Hope. The other one is pink that means joy.
Each of those candle has its corresponding meaning.
Let us begin with Love. God made man out of love and He himself designed the heart of man to love. He then teach each us to love on another as He loves us. In John 3:16
For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not be perish but have an everlasting life.
Then we have Peace. Being true to ourselves and to others, forgiving ourselves and forgiving others, will set us free and eventually we will have peace in mind and heart.
It may just be as simple as that to hear it but, the truth is, it is not easy to do, especially if you are into some trouble. Self pride, as I see, is one of the hardest thing to beat from within.
However, based on experience, prayer really helps us to maintain in humility and simultaneously it gives us the power to beat our pride.
I remember what the legend of martial arts, Bruce Lee, has left us, “The greatest victory we can have while being alive is the victory over ourselves.” I hope it make sense to you.
Now, you can start to practice to pray more to gain more on humility. Thus, it will be easier to admit our mistakes and forgive ourselves and ask forgiveness from those whom we have sinned and forgive those who have sinned against us.
The third one is Hope. As long as man lives we should not loose hope. Doing things right and doing what is necessary to get what we need for our family and for our selves will make our dreams happen.
As one of my idols in internet marketing, Tony Robbins says, “Always think positive, and all your feelings and actions will be aligned on to it. One day you will see yourself you already have achieve your goal in life.”
The last but definitely not the least is Joy. With love and peace man will certainly feel the joy from within. He is very sensitive to the chances to radiate his joy to the people around him. He will be a blessing to everyone he encounters.
In this Christmas, we shall remember the reason why God sent us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ and how He died for us. With all these, we will have the true Spirit of Christmas.
I will highly appreciate if you would leave a comment below.
Merry Christmas to all!
